Residents protest development of Towson Royal Farms

Yesterday, October 3, 2016, I was proud to stand with members of my community to protest the development of a controversial Royal Farms at the corner of York and Bosley. There’s a lot of history to this controversial project, and it all came to a head last night.

Update: Radebaugh Park

After months of back and forth, the county has agreed to purchase 2.36 acres of land at 50 Aigburth Avenue for $1.1 million. The agreement was signed September 15th.

According to the county, one of the holdups was whether state money that Delegate Lafferty and I helped secure could be used for demolition costs. Once I heard about this concern, I immediately secured the answer (yes it can be) from the Maryland Department of General Services, who distributes the state funding, and the sale was able to move forward.

This park is a really big deal. It will provide the people in East Towson with a really cool park within walking distance.

Taste of Towson

Nancy Hafford and the Towson Chamber of Commerce put together an amazing event on September 15th – The Taste of Towson. As always, it was an amazing event that showcased many of the wonderful places in Towson to eat. The room was packed with movers and shakers, good conversation, and a lot of fun!

Towson Times has been providing excellent coverage on the ongoing negotiations regarding the the Bosley Mansion:

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of speaking with so many bright students about government (and of course some politics). I’ve been participating in Career Day for several years, and it’s wonderful to watch many of the students grow over the years.
