Yesterday, October 3, 2016, I was proud to stand with members of my community to protest the development of a controversial Royal Farms at the corner of York and Bosley. There’s a lot of history to this controversial project, and it all came to a head last night.

After months of back and forth, the county has agreed to purchase 2.36 acres of land at 50 Aigburth Avenue for $1.1 million. The agreement was signed September 15th.
According to the county, one of the holdups was whether state money that Delegate Lafferty and I helped secure could be used for demolition costs. Once I heard about this concern, I immediately secured the answer (yes it can be) from the Maryland Department of General Services, who distributes the state funding, and the sale was able to move forward.
This park is a really big deal. It will provide the people in East Towson with a really cool park within walking distance.
Last Sunday, August 28th, I was proud to join residents of the Southland Hills community for a rally Sunday to draw attention to their concerns about the building and generate support for landmark designation. Unfortunately, it appears that not everyone supports the landmark designation.
